🐶🐱🐰🐩🦮🐕🦺🐈⬛
Today was our first day back inside our local shelter.
It was heartbreaking and emotional.
There were tears. There was shock. And there was the heavy reality of an overcrowded shelter and what that does to animals over time.
We met puppies who have been sleeping outside in the cold. Sick dogs who need care. Overcrowded, cramped conditions that no animal should have to endure. The noise, the stress, the smell of illness and fear.
No one who loves animals can walk into that and leave unchanged.
But here is what I want our community to know:
Stabilizing a shelter in this condition will take all of us. We urgently need the community’s support to help these animals get through this critical time.
Here are the ways you can help right now:
Emergency rescue support from partner orgs. There are 31 puppies of all ages from newborn to 3 months. We cannot let them grow up there.
Donate items from our shelter wish list:
clearlakeanimalassociation.org
(Dog food- wet and dry, cleaning supplies, bedding, towels, bucket beds, Kuranda beds, kennels) Remember to shop local!
Share this post so others can help.
Consider making a financial donation to support the medical care every dog DESPERATELY needs.
Every blanket, every bag of food, every ounce of help matters more than you can imagine.
These animals did not choose this. We need help to keep them comfortable.
Thank you to our hardworking new staff, volunteers, and teams from Bay Area German Shepherd Dog Rescue, Countryside Rescue Adoption Center and Fluffybutts Rescue Ranch for bringing a cleaning crew and supplies. Things got done!!
We also had a nice lunch- deli sandwiches and snacks donated by Foods Etc.-IGA , and our city council members, Russ and Tara. We appreciate them stopping by and being involved.
Tomorrow will be a big day with two Veterinarian teams visiting the shelter for wellness exams!!
Stay tuned!!
