If you’ve been pushing harder, eating cleaner, and still not feeling better — you’re not alone.

In midlife, it’s rarely about doing more.

It’s about understanding what your hormones are telling you — and supporting the systems that influence them:
🧠 Stress & nervous system
🩸 Blood sugar & insulin
💪 Muscle & metabolism
🌿 Gut & detox pathways

When we work with your physiology instead of against it, that’s when real change happens.

✨ This is exactly the personalized, holistic approach I take when working with patients — helping women understand what’s really going on with their bodies, and what to do about it.

📌 Keep following if you want a personalized, root-cause approach to your hormones — rooted in science, not quick fixes.

Midlife hormone shifts can feel confusing—but they’re not a sign your body is broken.

They’re a signal to pause, listen, and support what’s changing.

When we understand what’s happening underneath—not just chase symptoms—we create real, lasting change.

✨ You don’t have to push harder.

✨ You just have to start supporting your body differently.

📌 Save this post for the days you need a reminder: healing isn’t earned—it’s supported. 💛

Instead of handing out quick fixes, here’s my approach:

✨ Identify the root cause of your hormone symptoms with the right labs.
✨ Build a step-by-step plan around food, movement, stress, and sleep.
✨ Give your body the support it needs to restore balance and metabolism.

Why does this work?

Because when you stop masking symptoms and start treating what’s underneath, your results finally last.

This is the same personalized, systems-based approach I take with every woman I work with—helping you understand what’s really going on with your hormones, and what to do about it. It's NOT just about "one prescription" - pill - patch - cream or pellet or injection!

📌 Keep following for a personalized, root-cause approach to help you find your ideal weight, energy, mood, and sleep.

5 Blood Sugar Myths & Facts

When I work with a patient - I look at all of her hormones…

What is her “big picture?”

(Hint - It’s not just about ….)

When it comes to supporting your metabolism, starting with blood sugar, influenced by cortisol (your main stress hormone) and insulin (the hormone which helps “escort” glucose into your cells), is crucial. This approach makes it easier to manage your weight, feel energetic, sleep well, and be happy.

Early changes in blood sugar regulation are driven by insulin resistance, which means that cells become less responsive to insulin.

This most often happens because of a repeated pattern of eating an excess of sugar or refined carbohydrates without healthy fats, fiber, and protein.
Insulin resistance can lead to diabetes if left unchecked but can occur years before a diagnosis.

The #1 lab to know when it comes to your blood sugar? Hemoglobin A1c (or “A1c” for short) - it correlates to your average blood sugar in the last 3 months - it should be less than 5.7 … optimal ranges closer to 5.

Were any of these myths surprises?

Why you CANNOT ignore your gut health when it comes to your hormones...

𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The microorganisms residing in our GI tracts play a pivotal role in balancing hormones like serotonin (technically a neurotransmitter, but acts like a hormone), cortisol, and estrogen, impacting everything from our mood to reproductive health.

𝟮.𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿
The gut microbiome's estrobolome is crucial for metabolizing estrogen correctly, preventing estrogen dominance which can lead to mood swings, menstrual irregularities, and increased cancer risk.

𝟯.𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿
Our gut bacteria influence how well our body responds to insulin, affecting everything from PCOS to diabetes and even stubborn weight gain.

𝟰.𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿
The gut-brain axis highlights how an imbalanced gut microbiome can alter stress responses, potentially leading to over or underproduction of cortisol, affecting sleep, energy, and weight.

𝟱.𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿
Gut health imbalances can exacerbate inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, many of which affect hormones, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

I use the or GIEffects tests in my practice to assess a woman's microbiome and overall gut health.

I hear this from patients all the time. The most common scenario - she has just had her annual check-up - and she has been told "all your labs are fine..." but she does not "feel fine!"

This is where shines! 🌟

It's about finding the of why a woman can't lose weight, has low energy or mood, or can't sleep.... and even better - how she can move through perimenopause and beyond with grace and ease!

Do you need ? Maybe.... It depends....!!!

But you deserve to have a conversation with your doctor about ALL the options and to understand your individual risk factors and "root causes" for your symptoms.

I believe in getting better with age! 💪

Stop guessing about what you should be doing when it comes to your health.

I help a woman understand what is going on in her body - and create an individualized path that helps her feel from the inside - out!
