Just gonna be real for a second here:

You know that thing when people say, “no I can’t do yoga, I’m too inflexible”? I have so many feelings about this...
Not going to yoga because you are inflexible?? It’s funny how we use words.
But besides that, being “inflexible” is a great place to be to start yoga and to start looking at what it is. Usually, when we are inflexible, it is because we are holding onto something, and it’s layering up, and we are not necessarily conscious of it.

Flexibility to me is not something we gain.
Flexibility is something that happens as a result of becoming consciously aware of what is going on inside of us.
Flexibility is a natural state. It is a natural result of removing deep layers of resistance, trauma, acknowledging our stagnant emotions, and memories. But on a deeper level it is welcoming them, accepting them, surrendering... being one with them.
Yoga is experiential. Meaning that you have to show up to the practice to go through a process.
And the natural next step, is a letting go. The body begins to open up. Letting go happens through acceptance.
Flexibility is something you have already; and practices like asana or any practice where you are developing a deeper awareness will naturally become unveiled.

You can learn this with me in my yoga classes.
DM to sign up for Yoga classes in person with me or online.

“I don’t want to know” is denial.
“I don’t need to know” is detachment.
Very different.
In this moment; is life asking to be known?
Life in its most natural & direct expression is not insisting that you know anything about it.
Why is life not begging you to know anything?
Because life does not know that you think you’re separate from it. It has no idea that you are having that experience. And the only reason you want to know more about life is because you think you are separate from it.
If you can’t be at peace with nothing, then any amount of something won’t do.

Waking up from the concepts of endless conditioning...

When practicing yoga, at a certain point there is a clarity that dawns through and you realize that reality is a construction of concepts. This experience begins to shatter our beliefs in mistaken concepts and we understand they are not accurate.

We are lost.
Inside a dream that we call reality.
We have this idea that something out there is bringing us our suffering and happiness. This cannot be true.
It is nothing but endless concepts.

“We walk through waste lands of mistaken conceptual narratives. All of us waiting to wake up to the truth that the concepts were never the dictator and we were the ones that gave them life all along.”

Let’s be real with what’s happening right now.
We can easily turn a blind side but it is not the time. Let’s not look at the things happening in our world right now as a trap and we’re just screwed. Let’s look at the illusion of what we are living under so that we don’t go back to the way things were. And we can gracefully separate from that, and instead we can use our energy and our power to create new and beautiful things that are not built off of these corrupt systems. With love in our hearts and mind, let’s meditate on that.

When you open your eyes in the morning, that is your calling back into your purpose.
Symbolically, to go back to bed is to go back to sleep on your purpose.
If you are going back to sleep in the morning, then your passion is probably not great enough.
This makes perfect sense to me.
Your calling and passion should be enough to pull you out of bed in the mornings.

Science of Self.

I have been practicing yoga for the last 10 years and I currently am a 250 hour Registered Yoga teacher. Additionally, I am a performer, seamstress, and body care manager.

There’s something about body movement that feels like the truth for me. There’s so many layers to the body... the physical body, the emotional body, the mental, and the spiritual body. They are all connected. When you move one, they all move.

The Science of Self Yoga sequences are a combination of Ashtanga Yoga (primary and secondary series), Dharma MIttra Yoga, Bikram Yoga, and Chinese medicine. Ashtanga Yoga gives routine and discipline, with breath and focus. Dharma MIttra teaches you to go deeper through devotion and surrender. Bikram yoga helps to strengthen and heal the body. Chinese medicine helps you understand what is happening on a physical and emotional level.

The study of meridian channels changed my yoga practice because it gave me more knowledge of what’s happening inside the body. To have a more integrated experience was exactly what I was looking for. To find yourself, you have to know yourself, your true Self. Getting to know your body and what’s going on deep inside assists in the journey to the Self.
