💙 Get Paid to Care for a Loved One
Did you know you may be able to receive compensation for caring for a family member at home?
Many families are already providing daily support such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and medication reminders. Through Medicaid Waiver Services, your loved one may qualify to receive care at home, and you may be able to become their paid caregiver.
Here’s how the process typically works:
✅ Step 1: Determine Eligibility
Your loved one must qualify for Medicaid and meet medical criteria showing they need help with daily living activities.
✅ Step 2: Apply for Waiver Services
An application is submitted for Medicaid Waiver Services, which allow individuals to receive care at home instead of in a facility. This includes a care needs assessment.
✅ Step 3: Complete an In-Home Assessment
A nurse or case manager evaluates your loved one’s medical condition and level of care needed.
✅ Step 4: Choose a Licensed Home Health Agency
After approval, you’ll select a trusted home health agency to coordinate services and guide you through the next steps.
✅ Step 5: Become an Approved Caregiver
If eligible, you will complete onboarding requirements such as background screening, training, and employment paperwork. Once approved, you can begin providing care and receiving compensation.
