I've spent the last few days researching and writing about my 2nd great grandfather, who lived in Wilkes Co., NC. Why moonshine? Because Wilkes Co. is the moonshine capital and also where (and why) NASCAR began. Grandpa Lewis was a baptist, but apparently also like his moonshine. He was kicked out of the church in 1853!

It has been a great year for genealogy! I met my goals, AND launched my professional genealogy business. Honestly, I love doing client research as much as researching my own family. I enjoy providing those ancestral connections to people, and my clients have been amazing! I've also made some fantastic genealogy friends along the way. Looking forward to more in 2024!
