Statins Increase Diabetes Risk by up to 50% in Older Women
Statin medication, most popular is Lipitor, are generally prescribed for patients who have already had a heart attack. Too many doctors are prescribing these drugs too often with little regard for the overall patient's longterm health.
Patient must be encouraged to change diet:
1 - Eat fish 2 x per week for the Omega -3, reduces inflammation
2 - Eat nuts and sees for the magnesium, relaxes arteries
3 - Eat dark greens like spinach for the magnesium, calcium and zinc
4 - Eat orange, yellow, red fresh fruits for the vitamin C
5 - Take Red Rice Yeast as a supplement instead of a Statin drug
6 - Exercise daily, get 10,000 steps per day on pedometer
50% of heart disease is diet related:
AVOID
1 - AVOID High sodium foods and extra salt
2 - AVOID processed meats
3 - AVOID soda pop due to high sugar content
