September is National Recovery Month!!!!

Happy Recovery Month! Blueprints Specialty Programs honors the strength, resilience, and hope of individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use and mental health challenges.

Recovery is not just possible—it’s happening every day.

This month, we celebrate the journeys of those in recovery, the dedication of providers and peers who walk alongside them, and the communities that make healing possible.

Recovery looks different for everyone, and yet, we remain unified in our common goal to bring hope to the hopeless. Recovery deserves to be recognized, supported, and uplifted.

Join us in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and celebrating the power of recovery. Together, we can create pathways to wellness and thriving.

Specialty Programs and Blueprints For Addiction Recovery staff members had the opportunity to attend several National Night Out events across Lancaster County on August 5th from 6–8 PM.

National Night Out is a powerful community-building initiative focused on fostering strong relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve, ultimately enhancing overall community well-being.

At Blueprints for Addiction Recovery, Specialty Programs is dedicated to engaging with and supporting our communities. Through outreach and active participation in community-based events, we put our core philosophy into action—promoting access, education, and advocacy.

🌟 Community Kindness in Action! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to highlight a beautiful act of compassion and leadership from two young changemakers in our Blueprints family. 💙

Leanna Ballester, one of our dedicated Co-Responders, is not only making a difference in the field—her family is making an impact too. Her daughter and niece recently raised money to support individuals in our community who are struggling with substance use disorder. Their heartfelt initiative and generous donation are a powerful reminder that empathy and action can start at any age.

Blueprints Specialty Programs believes in the strength of community and the importance of supporting one another through life’s challenges. These young girls are shining examples of what it means to lead with love and purpose.

We are honored to share this photo of Officers Re*****on and Mowbray of the Strasburg Borough Police Department—one of the newest agencies to join the Co-Responder Program!

Their openness, collaboration, and strong commitment to mental health and recovery are truly commendable.

Building on the success of our initial diversion initiative, Second Chance PA, Blueprints For Addiction Recovery has continued to expand its impact through these Specialty Programs. These forward-thinking initiatives, staffed by skilled peer professionals like Leanna, aim to reduce recidivism, overdose, disease, and death—bringing lived experience and deep compassion into the heart of our work.

The Co-Responder Program embodies our core values: increasing access, providing education, advocating for change, and elevating the power of peer support. We're proud to partner with Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers' Association, PMHCA and Strasburg PD as we continue to bridge the gap between behavioral health and law enforcement. 💙

Staff Spotlight🔦‼️

Blueprints Specialty Programs Department is dedicated to creating innovative programs and initiatives that aim to reduce recidivism, overdose, disease, and death. These initiatives are supported by a team of passionate and skilled peer professionals.

This week, we want to recognize one of the many peer workers in our department for her unwavering dedication and leadership, which continues to foster the growth of our peers and programs.

Specialty Programs Manager Annie Ginder has proven herself to be an invaluable team member, offering direct service support in the community while demonstrating exceptional servant leadership to her team. A woman in long-term recovery, Annie holds both a CFRS and CRS certification and is a firm believer in the power of the creative process to heal the wounds of addiction. Annie shares:

“In my own healing process I have been given a life beyond my wildest dreams not because of anything that I have gained materially but for all the gifts that I have been given that have helped sustain me spiritually and I relish in the opportunities to share that with others.”

Help us celebrate the invaluable contributions that Annie continues to make in our community and organization!!! ❤️
