Anam Cara welcomes Heather Wisniewski to our board of directors!
Heather moved to Lander in 1998 to work for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), not realizing it would soon become home. Like many who find their way to Lander, she quickly fell in love with the strong sense of community and the easy access to wild places that make this place so special.
Heather began her career as an outdoor educator before shifting into philanthropy in 2008, where she discovered that fundraising is ultimately about connection—helping people support the causes and communities they care most deeply about. Over the years she has worked with several mission-driven organizations, including NOLS, The Nature Conservancy (both locally and globally), and now serves as Vice President of Advancement for Semester at Sea.
Heather lives in Lander with her husband, Chris, and their sweet pups. Like many families, she is also navigating the realities of supporting aging parents from afar. That experience has deepened her appreciation for the compassionate support Anam Cara provides to individuals and families facing illness, caregiving, and end-of-life transitions. She is grateful to support an organization that helps people remain cared for, connected, and at home during life’s most tender moments.
