It is back to school season! As roadways become busier, please take extra time to slow down and stay alert. If you can avoid driving through school zones, consider taking an alternate route to help ease congestion. Let's work together to ensure a safe and successful start to the school year for everyone in our community.

Safety first as we head back to school!

๐Ÿšธ Remind your kids to always use designated crosswalks and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
๐Ÿ›ด For those biking, a helmet is a must, and reflective gear helps them stay visible.
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Pedestrians should stay alert, keeping their eyes up and phones down to avoid distractions.
๐ŸšŒ When it comes to school buses, always stop for flashing red lights and give kids plenty of space to safely get on and off.

Letโ€™s make this school year safe for everyone! Have a great school year!

๐Ÿ’จ Yes, itโ€™s smoky up here. Our dedicated crews have checked it out and cleared the area, no active fires are present. The smoke has blown in and funneled through the canyon from nearby fires. ๐Ÿ”ฅ This is a very visceral reminder that weโ€™re still in a fire ban. Be cognizant of ci******es, car sparks on dry grass, and other hazards in addition to no open fires.

The Dollar Lake Fire continues to burn in the Green River Lakes area and is producing plenty of smoke this evening. This smoke and some ash is being carried to the southeast over the Wind River Mountains into the Wind River Basin leading to poor air quality, especially in the Lander area.
