We have an Advocacy Action Alert regarding Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS). These are essential services provided through our MI Choice program (formerly known as the Medicaid Waiver), actively supporting older adults and families in their homes and communities.



House and Senate Republicans advanced competing budget resolutions with both proposing detrimental cuts to Medicaid. The resolutions direct the House Energy and Commerce Committee and Senate Finance Committee, which have jurisdiction over Medicaid, to cut nearly $900 billion and $1 billion in federal funding, respectively. These proposed cuts put older adults and people with disabilities at risk of losing coverage and critical home and community-based services (HCBS) under Medicaid.



WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Email or call your U.S. Senators and Representatives urging them to oppose any cuts to Medicaid! Use our template letter (attached) to get started and be sure to customize the highlighted sections. Personalized testimony is also encouraged if you have a story about how in-home supports through Medicaid HCBS have made a difference to you or a loved one.
