What’s Up With the Name, Though?

Honestly, I just made it up. 😅

I was thinking about how much sports shaped me—how they gave me confidence, focus, and a sense of belonging I couldn’t find anywhere else. And I wanted other young women to feel that too.

Over the years, the brand has evolved from making T-shirts and hosting podcasts to offering sports massage, recovery, and training services. But at its core, the mission has been the same: to help people get and stay in the game.

Four years ago, while coaching at a basketball camp after the COVID lockdown, I did something that changed my life significantly: I completely ruptured my Achilles. No dramatic move. Just stepping to dribble towards the basket and then… I was on the ground. Confused by what happened.

During my recovery, I met a massage therapist friend who introduced me to a path I never expected to explore as a career—Sports Massage Therapy. Two months after surgery, I enrolled in massage therapy school. What felt like the end became my beginning.

That’s how TämBwoy: Training & Recovery was born.

Today I work with athletes AND busy folks who want to move better, feel better, and stay active—without pain being the thing that holds them back.

Sometimes what feels like the end is actually the start of something new.
