Ms. Michigan Corporate America is proud to announce that Michigan native Ashlee R. Willis, Founder and CEO of Michigan Premier Events, will represent Lansing as an official contestant in the Ms. Michigan Corporate America 2026 state competition on April 25, 2026, at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan.

Recognized for her leadership in producing impactful events and advancing community engagement, Willis brings more than a decade of experience strengthening organizations, supporting businesses, and fostering inclusive growth.

“As a wife, mom and business owner, I am truly honored to represent Lansing,” said Willis. “This opportunity reflects my continued commitment to creating connections, driving progress, and serving our communities.”

Willis is an active civic leader who serves on several boards, including ATHENA WIN, where she chairs the Evening of Empowering Women event; the Delta Township Economic Advisory Board; Strikeout Baseball USA; and United Way South Central Michigan, where she assisted in the the organization’s merger process.

Her leadership and impact have been recognized in multiple publications, including the Lansing State Journal, where she was named a Business Owner to Watch, and Women’s Lifestyle Magazine – Lansing, where she was featured on the cover. Willis has also served as a featured speaker at statewide and national events.

Additionally, Willis was highlighted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation through its Michigan Main Street storytelling initiative, The Michigan Main Street Business Owner Stories, which celebrates the uniqueness of local business owners and their contributions to helping communities thrive.

Her work reflects a modern approach to leadership where business excellence, service, and community advancement intersect. As Lansing’s representative, Willis will use the platform to continue championing initiatives that inspire collaboration, innovation, and meaningful community impact.

This Black History Month, we are honored to highlight Lori Adams Simon, MPA, CDM, CTA, a longtime leader and advocate whose work has shaped equity and civic life in Greater Lansing.

Lori served as Vice Chair of the Lansing City Charter Commission, where she helped guide the review of the city’s charter.

She is also the President and Principal Consultant of SimonSez Consulting, LLC and an award winning Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging executive recognized for her leadership and advocacy.

With more than 30 years of government and community relations experience, and twelve years of service on the City of Lansing Board of Ethics, Lori has built a lasting legacy of service and impact across our community.

The MSU High School Entrepreneur Leadership Camp is back for its 4th year! This free, four-day on-campus experience (June 23-26) is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors ready to explore entrepreneurship, leadership, and business innovation.

Hosted by MSU's Broad College of Business, Michigan State University – Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the Multicultural Business Programs.
