Finally, the media is talking about this...
Major news outlets like CNN, People Magazine, and Women's Health have been highlighting the shocking results from Clean Label Project's latest protein category report, joining an already extensive list of media covering this story.
The study found that, out of the 160 top-selling US protein powder products tested (representing 83% of the market):
-47% contain lead above California’s Prop 65 safety limits
-21% exceed these thresholds by 2x*
Shopping for protein powder in the U.S. shouldn’t feel like flipping a coin to avoid concerning levels of lead.
This is unacceptable. If you read the comments on the above-mentioned media coverage, consumers are appalled and frustrated. The industry needs to take more responsibility to create consumer trust.
In that light, we were proud to find out that we serve as a best practice case study, highlighted as the only brand in the category with the Clean Label Project’s Transparency Certification. Not only is every batch of every product third-party tested against more than 200 contaminants, but we also publish the test results for everyone to see.
Puori entered the supplement industry 15 years ago, dedicated to developing supplements from quality ingredients, with full transparency to earn consumer trust. While we’re proud of the progress we’ve made, we have an ambition to inspire change within the industry.
The future of supplement transparency lies in a collaborative effort between responsible companies, regulatory bodies, and informed consumers. It’s time to demand more from brands—higher standards, rigorous third-party testing, and complete transparency.
