Our afternoon at the farmer’s market was everything, fresh finds, sunshine, and most importantly, time together.

It’s easy to think that a healthy lifestyle is only about what you eat or how hard you train… but it’s also about healthy relationships.

Whether it’s exploring the farmer’s market, cooking a meal together, or simply walking hand-in-hand, these moments with your loved ones are just as important for your body and your soul.

I never expected going vegan would lead me here.

When I first started my journey, I believed that simply eating plant-based would be enough to feel fit, energized, and healthy. And for a while, it felt great. I lost over 50 pounds, I was aligned with my values, eating foods that felt good, and embracing a new lifestyle.

But then... reality hit.

Despite being vegan, I wasn’t feeling strong. I felt skinny but soft, and honestly, a bit frustrated. I’d try random workouts, dabble in cleanses, and chase every “vegan challenge” out there.

That’s when I realized my diet wasn’t structured for my goals, and my workouts had no real plan.

So, I decided to stop guessing. I learned how to fuel my body with enough plant-based protein. I started strength training with purpose, no more random routines, just a clear plan. And most importantly, I stopped chasing perfection and started focusing on consistency.

The results? Not just physical…though yes, I got stronger, leaner, and finally lost that stubborn belly fat. But more importantly, I felt great in my body. My energy skyrocketed, my confidence grew, and fitness stopped feeling like a chore. It became a part of who I am.

And here’s the truth: It wasn’t about being vegan OR fit. It was about being both, with balance, structure, and a system that works.

So, if you’re out there wondering if you can build muscle, shed fat, and actually feel proud of your body as a vegan, know that you can!

I used to think I had to “eat clean” all the time.

No burgers.

No fries.

Just plain “healthy” foods.

But every time I tried, it felt like restriction. I would eventually give in, feel guilty, and start the cycle all over again.

Can you relate?

The truth is you don’t have to cut out the foods you love to lose fat and build muscle.

You just need to learn how to balance them.

This burger and chips? It fits into my plan. No guilt. No stress. Just results.

You can enjoy your favorite foods and still reach your goals. It’s all about strategy, not restriction. 🔥

Next to every great man stands a great woman ❤️

We had no idea what was ahead, but one thing we knew was that we were in it together.

Give thanks for 13 years strong and nearly 7 years married.

My name is Luis Medrano. I was born and raised in southern California and I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am a 5th grade teacher as well as an advocate for healthy living through a plant based lifestyle. I am passionate about teaching and coaching, not just my students, but you on your health and fitness journey.
