Millions of Americans live in "pharmacy deserts," where access to essential health services is severely limited.🚫

These areas, often low-income, lack not only medication access, but other vital services provided by pharmacies such as routine vaccinations, opioid/addiction management therapy, contraception, and patient counseling.

A study published by Health Affairs Scholar found that nearly 16 million people in the U.S. reside in these deserts, with 95% of these deserts having no pharmacies at all.

The populations most affected are often younger and more likely to rely on public health insurance, highlighting the gaps in state-level policies and the need for comprehensive solutions. 🏥
