NV Mental Health Care for our most vulnerable and voiceless children is a lucrative money making system run by our wealthiest hedge fund managers and corporate oligarchs. Providers must speak out against these abuses and refuse to work without safety and training. The top make and keep all the money in exchange for turning a blind eye, and the day to day boots on the ground make minimum wage. I saw this firsthand when I came is a director to better the very facility highlighted in this report. I was fired and walked out the front door when I raised serious safety concerns for the kids in my care. Awareness and acceptance is everything.
Today is FASD Awareness Day. As a provider, it is important to be aware of the possibility of misdiagnosis when it comes to differing spectrum disorders. Awareness and acceptance for the family impacted by the diagnosis of FASD is emotional and difficult adding the need for an extra layer of mental health healing to occur.
