Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Ong knew her end goal was to somehow contribute to the wellbeing of her local community. Clark High School, but she didn’t know how to apply her interest in math and science until her grandmother became ill with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This was when Dr. Ong personally witnessed how limiting conventional medical resources could be for patients with chronic illnesses. When her grandmother passed away about a year later, Dr. Ong decided to completely leave behind her world of accounting and finance to embrace a new life in the healthcare industry. Dr. Ong pursued a medical degree at the Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine) in Tempe, Arizona, where she earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. After graduation, she moved back home to refine her skills in acupuncture and Eastern herbal medicine at Wongu University of Oriental Medicine, where she received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She now holds her naturopathic medical license through the state of Arizona, is a national board-certified acupuncturist with the designation Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOMⓇ), is endorsed by the Nevada Board of Oriental Medicine for the practice of Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy, and also serves as a NEXT Level Practitioner of the Neuro Emotional TechniqueⓇ (NETⓇ). Although trained in primary care, Dr. Ong eventually developed a special interest in women’s health and pediatrics. She has partnered with several reproductive endocrinologists in the Valley and works with couples to provide adjunctive care for their fertility treatments (IUI, IVF, etc). She also enjoys supporting women throughout their entire pregnancy, from miscarriage prevention, fetal development and labor support, all the way through postpartum recovery. With children, she often works on cases involving gut health, eczema, allergies, autism and ADHD. Some of the therapies Dr. Ong incorporates, include: nutrition and lifestyle counseling, functional medicine testing, botanical medicine, nature cure (aka hydrotherapy), homeopathy, applied kinesiology and acupuncture.
