Braces and injuries to the mouth (4 levels):
Level 1 - Broken Bracket - not an emergency, schedule with your orthodontist at their next available opening. Note: treatment stops the moment your bracket breaks, so get in sooner rather than later.
Level 2 - Split Lip- counts as an emergency. Send a pic to your dentist and go from there
Level 3 - Teeth Bent Out Of Place - contact your dentist/orthodontist immediately! Even though the teeth are still attached, something is fractured along the line where your teeth and jaw meet.
Level 4 - Tooth Knocked Out - put your tooth in Hanks Balanced Salt Solution, milk, OR your own saliva and get to your dentist/orthodontist IMMEDIATELY!! At this point, your tooth is dying and has only a few hours before those nerves die entirely and the tooth cannot be saved.
