this is the benefit of sticking with your trainer for a long time!
I just had a feeeeeeling I needed to add triceps back into her routine so I was already coming in ready to surprise her with a death push superset šŸ‘¾

and as we were setting up a different exercise she goes ā€œis this triceps?ā€ And I said ā€œno 😈 (knowing full well there was triceps coming later)

building a working relationship with your trainer allows them to understand you!
Understand how to get you to try things you ā€œdon’t likeā€
understand what things you really like if you’re having a tough day
Understand how to get you to grow in the gym! (Mentally and physically)

would it be healthier to just go back into being consistent with my strength routine? Pick ip where I left off. and drop the reps, sets, and/or weight.

Probably.

but my brain doesn’t work that way…at least not yet

THIS is where having friends, family, community, and trainers that align with your goals comes in handy! Because they are your what naturally brings you back to the self that you strive for!

You’re gonna have weeks that are off, it’s just human.
but is your environment conducive to the bounce back?
