When we lose our connection with ourselves, each other, all living things, Mother Earth, our body becomes imbalanced, we become disconnected, no longer able to support or nurture ourselves or our healing.
Hi, I’m Sheila, owner and founder of NaturalU. I’m an environmental scientist, biologist, yogini, energy healer, aromatherapist, herbalist, dancer, and all around nature lover. I’m an eclectic teacher and a continual student of many teachers. I’ve always felt connected to Mother Earth; as a result, I’ve been passionate about conserving all she has to offer. Already as a child growing up in Europe I experienced the healing power of Pachamama through the use of natural remedies. I walked barefoot through the forests, grounded, connected.
After earning degrees in Environmental Studies and Biology and working in clinical research and in environmental consulting, I eventually became extremely disillusioned with both. I saw on a daily basis how pharmaceutical drugs were being studied and how I wasn’t conserving ecosystems but rather making space for development. I had become disconnected, imbalanced, which showed up in a variety of ways including physical pain. I eventually began to peel back the layers to find wholeness, oneness again, to nurture myself, to come back into balance. If we allow ourselves to peel back the layers and move through our blocks we are able to enter a new space, a place of healing and wellbeing. Through the use of movement, breath, calming of the mind, and healing from the earth we can find our space of healing.
