Parang was brought to Trinidad and Tobago by Venezuelan migrants which meant "a spree" and "to stop" in Spanish.

Since then, Parang evolved in Trinidad and Tobago and already has a new form called soca parang. A combination of soca and parang. It is largely performed during Christmas time.
