Sometimes what we really need isn’t another strategy, another planner, or another productivity hack.

Sometimes we need someone to lovingly point out that we’re trying to function from a place of overwhelm.

So many women (especially neurospicy women) building businesses think they need to “do better,” when really their nervous system is asking for something different.

More capacity.
More regulation.
More honesty about what’s actually going on beneath all the dang pressure.

These are the kinds of reminders I wish more women heard while trying to build their business and life. Because I know how lonely building can feel at times and you just need someone who understands.

Because I’ll tell you this…calm isn’t laziness.
Rest isn’t failure.
And you don’t have to stay in survival mode to be successful.

April Fools… but also not really 😅

I’m 37 days into my cycle and 13 days late, and if you know, you know your brain starts doing math you didn’t ask for.

But no, I’m not pregnant!
I’m in my perimenopause era… and I just started HRT.

This is the part no one really prepares you for. The irregular cycles, the shifts in your body, your mood, your energy… all while still trying to function like nothing’s changing.

And here’s the thing this isn’t just a “40s conversation.” Women in their 20s and 30s deserve to understand what’s coming, what’s normal, and what support actually exists.

So I’m documenting this journey.
Honestly, openly, and without the sugarcoating.

Because we don’t need more silence around this. We need real information and real conversations.

It’s pretty simple to cleanse your home and I wanted to show you how easy it is to do on your own. I tend to to mine whenever I feel my home needs to move some energy out. It’s been 2 months since it was last done, and it was because we just moved into this new space.

Make sure you have a door or window open when you do so, so that the old energy has a place to leave.

My sage bundles came from all over and the first one I pulled out I made at with their indigenous plants.

I mentioned oils, I showed a prayer oil I had for a while which I came from a Christian book store. And Lemon essential oil is from . I actually like to use Frankincense when using for my home and I put some on my fingertips and dab over all my doorways as I pray in tongues over my home (raised with Pentecostal roots IYKYK). I didn’t show this in the video but that’s how I use oils. Let me know if you want me to make a video on that.

It’s not “I don’t work.” (Ugh I hate when people assume this because it’s actually quite opposite)
It’s actually “I don’t look stressed doing it!”

That’s not laziness.
It’s not hustle.
It’s regulation.
It’s clarity.
It’s actually hard work to do this.
It’s knowing when to push and when to rest.

That’s a regulated nervous system. Soft doesn’t mean you’re not doing a lot.
It means your nervous system isn’t paying the price for it.

There are pros and cons to everything.
Taking care of your health requires effort, routine, and showing up when you don’t feel like it. As a therapist I work with plenty of clients who have a goal of adding movement once they feel more stability in their mental health.

But not taking care of it?
That comes with its own consequences.

Time moves regardless.
The question is… what is it moving you toward?

Late diagnosed with ADHD when I was 32 and at 44 as a licensed mental health professional I’m still learning about being neurodivergent.

Yesterday I had a really interesting but good conversation with a friend who feels like she struggles with ADHD symptoms within their business. We talked and related about a lot on similar things. But also how it looks different between us.

ADHD does not always look the same on two people and especially men and women. It also shows up in more than five ways, but these are probably the most common that I deal with on a daily weekly basis.

My Story, who is Desiree?

Hello, my name is Desiree and I have taken what has inspired and changed my life and created this page to share my passions and journey with others.

I have my degree from Cal Poly Pomona and hold a Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy with a certification in grief and bereavement. I have worked with victims of crime, families, and children since 2008 but currently work with others in taking a holistic approach to overall wellness, specializing in emotional wellness. I love working with all different types of people but find that a majority of my clients are mental health professionals and yoga instructors, and women. I also enjoy speaking at events or functions and have also been a professional speaker for over nine years
