Come get mystical with us at Painting with a Twist on October 24th! Back with another chance to engage in multiple forms of self care at once! Connect with like minded humans while enjoying the libations of your choice (both alcohol and non alcohol options available), indulge your inner child while expressing your creativity via painting in a relaxed environment, and receiving guidance through a tarot reading to help get you/keep you on track! Remember, the way to "being creative" is to simply create! So it doesn't matter how "good" you are at painting, it matters that you're allowing yourself to do it!
I'll be doing the tarot while you bring to life your chosen card/manifestation! There's 4 different tarot card based options to pick from: The Sun, The Moon, The Star, The World! (more on the tarot part after the card descriptions below)
If you're interested but can't choose which card, let's talk about what each of these cards can signify, or more importantly, what they can bring into your life if you put your focus into them!
-The Sun: positivity, optimism, confidence, truth, fun, warmth, growth, success, vitality, inner child
If you feel drawn to the Sun card, this can indicate the need to engage in work with your inner child. When you need more movement, play, vitality, growth and creativity, The Sun is your focus! To get more out of this, you can layer in working on/with gratitude practices, hobbies that genuinely excite you, seeking out uplifting people/experiences, engaging with your solar plexus chakra (this deals with who you are, your sense of self, and when imbalance can cause such things as Impostor Syndrome or extremely low levels of self-confidence). When you need to remember who you are, The Sun is a bright ally!
-The Moon: illusion, fear, anxiety, secrets, subconscious, intuition, emotions, mental health
If you feel drawn to the Moon card, this can indicate the need to release certain fears, anxieties, or emotions from your sub and unconscious mind that have been holding you back from being able to embrace the messages from your guides and higher self. Perhaps you have been walking a path where nothing feels solid and all you have to “lean on” are mental blocks, self doubt, ignoring your intuition, and hastily made decisions. Resources to assist could possibly include hypnosis, various types of therapy, journaling, shamanic healing and lunar based ritual/visualization work. When you need to remember how powerful your mind and intuition are, The Moon is an illuminating ally!
-The Star: hope, faith, rejuvenation, purpose, renewal, spirituality, self-trust, connection
If you feel drawn to the Star card, this can indicate a need to prioritize self care acts that are geared towards renewing your sense of trust in self and/or your trust in your spiritual path. Perhaps you’ve lost faith, or never really felt like you identified your Soul’s Purpose. Being able to see the inspiration around you can take practice, but any effort put into this endeavor will overflow with the blessings from the Universe. Things to focus on to get the most out of this card: Reconnecting with what's truly important to you/your soul’s purpose, engage in active daily self care and spiritual nourishment, going to metaphysical/spiritual workshops which foster insights and actions that deepen inner trust in the self, shadow work, gratitude practices, yoga, vision boards, energy work, meditation. When you need to remember why you are here, the Star is a stellar ally!
-The World: completion, integration, success, accomplishment, travel, taking the “long” way instead of taking shortcuts
If you feel drawn to the World card, this can indicate that something(s) in your life are drawing to a natural end, and that it’s time to let go of whatever is attached to this process in order to be ready for whatever is next! Celebrations over all the accomplishments of this cycle, as well as eager integrations of what's been learned takes priority! Now is the time to glean personal and spiritual lessons to go forward with, not so much the time to start booking up all your free time with new endeavors. Also, be mindful of the ways in which self sabotage can try to derail closing out of a cycle. To see this to the end, you may find usefulness in journaling, energy work, talk therapy/circles, shadow work to zero in on what may be inhibiting you from reaching completion/closure. When you need to remember why you did any of this in the first place, The World card is a comprehensive ally!
Regarding the tarot portion: The cost for this in included in your ticket! Each person will take turns coming into another area of the studio (for privacy) to focus on their reading which will last roughly 10-15 minutes. You are allowed to take notes, take pictures/video and/or record the reading (or do none of those things! It's YOUR reading, do whatever you need to get the most out of it!) You can use this time to inquire about anything you'd like, or you can also choose to stay on topic with the tarot card you chose to paint! So if you are focusing on the Star card, we can do a reading that reveals what kinds of self care to engage in, or what areas of shadow work to delve into to re-establish trust within the self. Another option for the reading can simply be "What does my Guide/the Universe/My Higher Self need me to know right now?"
Once your reading is completed, you can return to completing your painting!
