Some autistic people find eye contact uncomfortable. That is okay. You don’t have to force eye contact. Many autistic individuals are now sharing their feelings about this. While eye contact can help with social connection, looking in someone’s direction or facing them also shows you are paying attention and interested. It’s important to do what feels right for you.
