I venerate the lotus feet of the gurus, which have revealed the knowledge of the bliss of one’s own Self.
Unsurpassed, they act as the doctor for alleviating the delusion of the poison of transmigration.

Hello Pitta Season! 🔥

In Ayurveda, pitta season is typically the summer months and holds the energy of warmth, intensity, and transformation.
Governed by the elements of Fire and Water, pitta brings the heat and shifts things up! We begin to want to get things done, stay up later, and have the energy to do so.

To maintain balance during the pitta months, Ayurveda recommends bringing in all things calming and cooling. Our diet should be filled with bitter, sweet, and astringent tastes.
Think about adding cucumber, coconut, watermelon, and bitter greens to your diet, while incorporating cooling spices such as mint, cilantro, and fennel.

Lifestyle choices should also be calming to counter the rajasic energy that surrounds pitta. You could bring in more restorative yoga, meditation, or cooling pranayama practices such as sitali.

Now’s the time to focus on hydration, slowing things down, and being mindful throughout the day. Spend time in nature, set down your phone, and breathe!

Happy International Day of Yoga ✨

Throwback to a pic of at 38 weeks pregnant. One thing the practice has taught me recently is PERSEVERANCE.

The practice of yoga is here for us to constantly revisit the mat as a different person and still spend time with the breath and body. It’s something that fluctuates but is still familiar.
We continue to show discipline and keep practicing! We do the same poses, and yet they feel different every single day, just like life. We gradually shift who we are and end up a different person a year later.

I’ve always been scared of what my practice would be like as I aged, had babies, or worked through injuries; but it is always there: familiar, yet different. It’s always changing, just as we are.

This practice has given me so much. It’s helped me feel grounded, made me a better person by creating the self-reflection I’ve needed, and helped me see into who I am and the world around me.
