Dear Kansas Partners in Prevention,

On July 16, 2025, the national 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline will discontinue the “Press 3” option, which previously connected LGBTQ+ youth to affirming crisis counselors through The Trevor Project. This change was implemented at the national level and affects all 988 systems nationwide.

For individuals seeking LGBTQ+ specific services, we encourage the use of The Trevor Project, a national organization providing 24/7 crisis support for LGBTQ+ young people:

The Trevor Project:
Support for LGBTQ+ youth (under 25)
Call: 1-866-488-7386
Text: Text “START” to 678-678
Chat: www.thetrevorproject.org/get-help

As always, we appreciate your partnership in ensuring that all Kansans know they are not alone and help is just a call, text, or chat away.

Please share this information with those in your networks who may be impacted by this change in services.

Thank you,

Get immediate help 24/7/365. The Trevor Project's crisis counselors are just a text, chat, or phone call away. Completely confidential and free LGBTQ hotline.
