In Remembrance of Christina Tahhahwah

In Remembrance of Christina Tahhahwah In Remembrance of Christina Tahhahwah, whose life was taken by being Tasered Multiple Times by Lawton Police for defiantly singing Comanche Hymns in jail .

Christina Tahhahwah’s life was taken November 14, 2014 by the over usage of police brutality by Lawton City Police. Unfortunately, Christina had suffered from Bio-Polar Disorder and had recently stopped taking her medication. She had an episode of throwing milk at someone and the police were called to help assist her to get back on her medication. However, she went to Lawton City Jail instead of r

eceiving medical treatment, which she had asked for. The family was told by the Comanche County Memorial Hospital that the Lawton City Police said they found her unresponsive in jail. However, the Lawton City Police Department Failed to tell the hospital that she was Tasered. She was in the ER by 12:38 PM and the Lawton City Police released her from Jail at for 14:40 (2:40 PM). The Police Department did not even contact the family to let them know what happened to her, as she laid on life support for over 12 hours before any of the family knew. Our Family was told by numerous people from the jail what had actually happened. Christina Tahhahwah always sang Comanche Hymns for comfort and that’s what she was doing in her jail cell. Christina was told to stop singing and that’s when she was Tasered Multiple Times for being Defiant. The EMT was called and they had to revive her for over 25 minutes. We have heard that the Lawton Police Department had her handcuffed with her hands above her head. Why didn’t the Lawton City Police Records state she was Tasered in their statements? Our family is demanding answers, now that she is laid to rest. We want justice and demand a better procedural for the Lawton City Police with working with people with mental issues. Christina had a heart of gold and her freedom of speech and religion were violated. Now we all must speak on her behalf and prevent the abuse in Our City Jail. The medical staff supports our efforts and stated there is NO reason for her to be dead. Christina was only 37 years old when her life was taken by force by the Lawton Police Department. She was a mother, daughter, granddaughter and she was loved by so many people.

Hello Family and Friends, next month will be a year that Christina Dawn Tahhahwah will have been taken from us. However, we have not forgotten and will not forget what has been done to her. We are thankful for all the prayers and support from our community and hope to prevent this tragedy from happening to others.
We have planned to have our family and friends to unite at the Sia Program (Eagles Program) 106 E. Looking Glass Way (Texas), Cyril on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 PM, which is All Souls Day & Day of the Dead ,Día de Mu***os. We wanted to bring everyone together to pray and prepare us for this upcoming battle we are going to face. There is a Hymn Singing and Dinner at the Petarsy UMC in Richard Spur on Sunday November 8 at 2:00 – 5:00 PM, because she loved to sing our tribal hymns. On Saturday, November 14 a Candle Light Vigil and Singing will be outside at Shepler Park, next to the Lawton Police Station from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. (The Permit to gather for Shepler Park has been submitted and waiting on two more signatures, but was submitted more than 40 days prior).
We hope that everyone will come out to show their support of our beloved Christina and pray that Justice will prevail.

We would like to thank the hundreds of supporters that came to the Remembrance Vigil for Christina Tahhahwah in Shepler Park, Lawton, OK. We wanted to celebrate her life in songs, fellowship and prayer in front of the Lawton Police Department, where she tortured on November 14, 2014. We are asking for prayers for Justice and a better protocol for working with those who suffer with mental health issues. It’s hard to know there are so many watching her last hours on the internet and not be being able to see the incident. However, prayers to those know the truth and will speak out.
Thanks for all the singers that came out in support of the family and special performance from Ho**er Sovo’s Michael Jackson’s “They care out us” Dance Performance. Thanks to Chad for singing that Memorial Song, Allen Boyd for the Fort Sill Apache Songs, Big Goose for the Ponca Songs, Youth Hymns singers and ended in some Journey Songs (49) by candlelight. Thanks again to everyone and God Bless you this Christmas Season.

Please, say a prayer for the video footage to have the incident in the jail, because The Lawton Constitution has a copy of the video footage. LPD says the Taser was not logged in as being used and not sure what footage will been seen. However, why would various people have the same story and hearing of torture stories from LPD. Inmates are not animals and their words should have creditability to what they witness. Prayers for JUSTICE, AHO…
