I personally lived with pain for several years after a car accident. My neck would start aching in the afternoon and by evening I was propping my head up on pillows. I couldn’t watch TV or sit at a computer long or even get a full night's sleep without waking up. I tried physical therapy, but it didn’t work entirely. I tried medications, but they just masked the pain. It wasn’t until I finally started getting regular massages that the pain went away. Not only did massage fix my neck, but it made my whole body feel better and operate on a higher level.
I struggled with skin problems too. I abused my skin with tanning beds and never used sunscreen growing up. By my late 40’s my skin was starting to sag and sun spots and wrinkles were appearing. Alyssa, our founder, had acne scars from her youth. She set out to fix her skin by becoming a master esthetician. Not only did she fix her skin but she learned how to help other people too. She literally transformed me with the right products and treatments. We both have amazing skin now. My skin is tight, sun spots and wrinkles are gone, and I look twenty years younger! Seriously.
In 2017, we started Massage Life Spa. Our goal was to create a spa ‘regular people’ could afford, not just spa lovers or the rich and famous. We wanted it to be a one-stop destination with all the latest and best products and services. We wanted it to be healthy, green, and offer a full spa experience. We added all the extra touches people want but often miss out on, like aromatherapy, tea, and hot stones. We made everything all-inclusive. We don’t like being up-sold for every little thing, so we included it all for one set price. And we insisted on full 60-90-120-minute treatments without shaving time off for coming and going. We added an extra 15-minutes before and after each treatment to enjoy a cup of tea and relax in the beautiful spa environment. It was a crazy dream for sure.
And it worked! Customers started coming in droves, re-booking, buying memberships, and telling their friends about us. Five-star reviews started pouring in. Our goal changed from seeing how many customers we could get to seeing how many 5-star reviews we could earn. That changed everything! Our team became more accountable and aware. They started focusing on what customers really want. We were so blown away by all the positive reviews we decided to post them in real time on our website. That’s a scary thing to do, putting it all out there, but we are proud of our efforts and we feel like consumers deserve to be fully informed.
