I figured everything on one page would be the easiest.

Please be thinking about Dave today as he starts BOTH chemos on the same day. They just happen to fall that way. Pray for comfort and minimal side effects. The first week is always rough.

My husband isnt going to brag on himself, but I will! This man found out he had a very rare aggressive cancer and was in the hospital for 33 days fighting to live AND STILL MANAGED TO KEEP STRAIGHT A’s & still while driving an hour away daily to get treatments.

There were times he would be hooked up to chemo AND getting a blood transfusion while sitting there getting his homework done.

Proud is an understatement. You inspire me and push me and I am so very proud of you. Proud to call you my husband and my best friend. I cant wait to see where your education takes you! You are one of the smartest people I know. (I will only say that once bc I dont want you getting a big head)

Hey guys! 👋

It has been a few weeks, Dave started chemo again last Monday. He takes oral chemo every morning and every night, and he does IV chemo Monday through Friday in Springfield. Last week he had some pretty bad nausea and headaches, but that was kind of expected since it was his first week back on arsenic.

He has been a trooper! We are just trying to figure out how to get back into our routine… well our new routine. David‘s bloodwork has been looking good although he is anemic. Please continue to pray… We love you guys!!

Dave is off to his biopsy! He should be done in about an hour! Say a quick prayer for a easy procedure and good results!!

The doctor is suppose to find out today if we are going home tomorrow! 🙏

We really have some of the best nurses! They make the time here alot better and take such good care of Dave! They take good care of me too, really. ♥️

Update from Sam 3-11-22

Update on Dave: Today is day 23 of chemo. Thats means that for last 23 days, 23 hours of it he has been hooked up to chemo pumping him full of arsenic. Dave has had to learn to stay alive in a way that he has never had to live before.

The doctor has put in for a bone marrow biopsy next Teusday or Wednesday. This is a really big deal. We wont get the results for 2-3 days but if they come back clean then they will start getting Dave ready to come home. After we come home we will go into phase 2 of treamtment. This means that Dave will have to do IV chemo Monday-Friday for 4 weeks and then get 4 weeks off. He will do that for atleast 8 months along with oral chemotherapy.

If the bone marrow comes back dirty we will be in for quite a long road. That would mean 30 days in the hospital again starting this proccess all over. It could also mean we would have to be transferred Barnes-Jewish for a bone marrow transplant.

PLEASE PRAY WITH US! Pray this scan comes back clean so Dave can come home. So we are one step closer to remisson. We appreciate you all.
