At Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, honoring our veterans is more than tradition — it is a responsibility we take seriously.

Our Veterans Garden stands as a lasting tribute to the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. While this dedicated garden is now fully reserved, Hillcrest continues to assist veteran families every day by helping coordinate the military honors their loved ones have earned.

Our team works closely with families to help arrange:

Military Honor Guard services

Folding and presentation of the American flag

Taps and ceremonial elements

Guidance through VA burial benefits

Coordination with funeral homes and veteran organizations

Ensuring each service is carried out with dignity, precision, and respect

During one of life’s most difficult moments, families should not have to navigate these important honors alone. Our role is to ensure every veteran receives the tribute they deserve.

Honoring Those Who Served

At Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, honoring our veterans is not just part of what we do — it is something deeply personal to me.

As a United States Marine Corps veteran, I understand firsthand the sacrifice, discipline, and commitment that service to our country requires. Because of that, I believe every veteran deserves a final tribute carried out with the same honor they showed in life.

Our Veterans Garden stands as a lasting tribute to the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. While this garden is now fully reserved, Hillcrest continues to assist veteran families by helping coordinate the military honors their loved ones have earned.

We assist families with:

Hillcrest Memorial Gardens is one of those places where the beauty and peaceful atmosphere speak for themselves. The grounds are carefully maintained, the landscapes are open and welcoming, and the entire property reflects dignity, respect, and tranquility for the families who visit here.

Recently, I had the opportunity to have some photos taken around the gardens to help show people just how beautiful Hillcrest truly is. These photos were taken by Micheal Kennedy, and he did an excellent job capturing the natural beauty, detail, and peaceful character of the property.

Temple Shalom Memorial Garden — also known as the Garden of David at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens — is a dedicated Jewish memorial section created to serve the Jewish families of Lake County with dignity, tradition, and respect.

Built and donated to the Jewish community of Leesburg, this sacred garden was designed to accommodate both Orthodox and Reform Jewish burial traditions, ensuring that loved ones may be laid to rest in accordance with the customs and values that are so important to our faith and heritage.

Marked by the Star of David and surrounded by a peaceful garden setting, the Temple Shalom Memorial Garden stands as a place of remembrance, reflection, and continuity for generations of Jewish families. The memorial within the garden also honors the memory of those lost during the Holocaust, reminding us of the importance of preserving history and community.

We are excited to announce a new expansion to our Garden of David, creating additional opportunities for Jewish families in Lake County to reserve space together and ensure their final resting place remains within a dedicated Jewish section.
