How to Avoid Going Blind to Betrayal in Your Relationship

❓ Are you going blind to betrayal in your relationship
❓ Why do people tuck information about what has happened to them out of their awareness?
❓ Why do betrayed partners go blind to the traumas that they endure?

Dr. Jennifer Freyd, one of the seminal researchers on the issue of betrayal trauma, coined the term "betrayal blindness" to describe the tendency to withhold threatening information from our awareness in an effort to protect our primary attachment.

Betrayal blindness is an important topic for betrayed partners to be aware of and has a profound impact on their https://bit.ly/3qLgG14 this video, I'll discuss the patterns of betrayal blindness that I've observed in nearly every betrayed partner I've worked with over the past two decades - and how I've helped them to overcome it!

I'm Divorcing, So I Don't Need Help

Recently a client decided that the best and healthiest route for her was to end her relationship with her spouse. After all, he had cheated on her and his demeanor after discovery was removed, distant, and often passive aggressive. She came to therapy, told her counselor about her decision, and declared that she was done with treatment. Since she was divorcing, she no longer needed therapy.

In childhood, many of us experienced parenting that was at times less than nurturing or perhaps even overtly critical, neglectful, or indulgent. When that happens, we grow up and become adults who treat ourselves the same way that we were treated, parenting ourselves from the paradigm that we know.

Building on the developmental trauma model developed by Pia Mellody, this workshop is designed to help you to:
βœ… Identify the wounded child within and the hurts that are part of your story.
βœ… Identify the adaptive child who learned certain ways of relating to the world to cope with the hurts that were happening.
βœ… Learn how to re-parent yourself from a functional nurturing adult self β€” changing your relationship with yourself and how you relate to those you love.
