🔬 Tom Steele’s Personal Take on the Side Effects of Too Much Testosterone
When it comes to Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), the benefits are well-known—more energy, better libido, and improved muscle mass. However, as someone who’s experienced TRT firsthand, I can tell you that too much testosterone can lead to side effects. Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. Estrogen: Excess testosterone can convert into estrogen, leading to mood swings and other issues. Proper dosing and estrogen inhibitors can manage this.
2. Oily Skin & Acne: Elevated DHT from TRT can cause skin issues. Proper monitoring helps keep this in check.
3. Hair Loss: Linked to DHT, not directly to testosterone, but still a concern for some.
4. Prostate Health: Contrary to old beliefs, TRT doesn’t seem to worsen prostate issues significantly in short-term studies, though it’s worth discussing with your provider.
5. Testicular Shrinkage: High testosterone levels can reduce testicular size as the brain cuts off its natural production.
6. Increased Red Blood Cells: Too much testosterone can thicken blood, raising risks of heart issues. Regular monitoring and adjustments are crucial.
The key is working with a professional who ensures you get the right dosage and manages any potential side effects. For me, Testosterone Centers of Texas has been excellent in balancing benefits with safety.
