One of the first families i had the privilege to support here in Virginia, thank you for your sweet words!

There is a beauty witnessing the calm that can come when difficulties are met with support.
These are the stories that remind me of why I care so deeply for this work.

I get this question often: what exactly IS the tip 🗻 of the ni**le that we're supposed to measure 📏 for fl**ge fitting?

For some people, the tip is more obvious 👀 than for others, this is true.
Ultimately, the good news 📰 (I hope) is that measuring (or assessing) the tip diameter is just a starting point.

Pumping should feel like "nothing" or "a gentle tug". If it hurts, it's not the right size. Sometimes going smaller than you even think will fit helps you find the right size. It's an art, not a science...and the person pumping ultimately has to decide what feels best AND gets the most milk out.
Fl**ges come as small as 9mm (the diameter of the tunnel).

There are also different shapes of fl**ges and different materials. All of these factors influence comfort and milk flow.

To learn more about fl**ge fitting as a person who plans to pump, is pumping, or helps other people with pumping, see https://www.babiesincommon.com

2025, you were such a meaningful year!

With each mother and baby I met, my heart was filled with love.

To the Georgia & South Carolina families, you will always hold a special place in my heart. We shared so many tender moments, and I am deeply touched to have been welcomed into your homes during these early days of motherhood.

To my virtual clients, you leave me in awe 💗. Your love and dedication shine so brightly! Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you.

And Virginia, my new love!
Thank you for welcoming me so warmly at the end of this year. I look forward to all the beautiful mothering moments we will share.

This year has had its highs and lows, and together we’ve learned that the “in-between” moments of mothering are just as important as the milestones. Challenges often bring the greatest growth, and I am grateful for all the lessons and triumphs we experienced together.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,” - II Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬

When something becomes difficult, the body does what it does best, it adapts. As an IBCLC it is important to know how the body finds alternative ways to complete a function when mobility is limited. These compensations can be incredibly effective in the short term, but over time they may lead to dysfunction. This is especially true in oral function, where restrictions like tongue ties can influence breathing, feeding, speech, and overall movement patterns. Understanding how and why the body compensates allows us to better identify the root cause, rather than just treating the symptoms.

I’m really going to miss each of you. It’s been such a blessing to meet and spend time together. I still can’t believe the Mom Circle started back in July 2024. Watching moms and babies grow, connect, and support each other through this postpartum journey has been such a joy.

I’m so grateful for Candace, an amazing IBCLC, who will be continuing the Mom Circle and all the love and support it brings. 💗

Stay tuned for more details about upcoming Mom Circle dates from Candace at !

This mama truly melted my heart with these photos of this special moment! 🥹

Sweet Baby N gave me all the cuddles and love today, and I was able to assess how her oral mobility has been improving since her release! Her cheeks have been a sensitive spot with little tolerance for assessment, but today she truly showed off! & embraced being in my arms.

The S family has been such a blessing to work with. I’m so grateful to have walked alongside them through these milestones and moments.
This may be our last in-home consult, but I’m incredibly thankful to live in a time where video calls allow us to stay connected and continue support along the way!

Cracked ni**les, clogged ducts, and mastitis may be common… but they’re not something you should have to push through or accept as just part of the journey.

🚩These are signs that something is out of balance.
In these situations, we need to assess the whole picture

Not just the latch.
Not just the oral anatomy.
Not just how to relieve the discomfort.

But why is this happening?
And how can we prevent it moving forward; to protect your breastfeeding journey and your well-being?

You deserve care that looks deeper, listens closely, and supports you fully.
