Through its mission, the SCORH works in collaboration with federal, state, and local partners to offer various services and resources to SC's health providers and their rural communities. These resources include comprehensive recruitment and retention services for rural providers consisting of job placement, loan repayment and practice incentives. Other services offered include practice management assistance to hospitals, emergency medical services, and rural medical practices; rural infrastructure development; technical assistance with grant writing and program development; rural rotation opportunities for health professions students; and assistance with access improvement efforts in small, rural hospitals and other practice settings. Additionally, the SCORH provides assistance to rural health care facilities for renovation, construction and/or expansion of services by identifying affordable financing through the Rural Health Revolving Loan Program. The SCORH also offers support services for certified Rural Health Clinics, acts as an advocate for rural providers, and disseminates information regarding legislative and policy issues impacting rural health.
