Spin History is a journal for all things fibery and historic. It’s the intersection of two of my passions.
The first passion is crafting from fiber. If you knit, crochet, spin yarn, weave, poke your finger with a needle, or even tie fishnets - you are a fiber artist. Like many folks, I had forgotten how to create simple things in a slow and purposeful way. Fiber is one of nature’s most basic and versatile gifts. It is sustainable, abundant, and eco-friendly. Crafting from fiber is powerful, tactile, therapeutic, and incredibly satisfying.
The second is history. From ancient history to recent history - our story is our collective memory. We should be scrutinizing historic perspectives, debunking myths, exposing bias, and celebrating diversity. Instead of taking sides, we should be taking notes!! Citizens of the world are more divided than ever, but our shared story has the power to unite us. It helps us learn from our mistakes, celebrate our victories, and shape our future.
