The Start of the IJWD

In 2014 the Women's Dermatologic Society established the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology with Elsevier to provide a forum for communications and research relevant to issues regarding women and their families. Through the outstanding efforts of founding Editors in Chief Dr. Jane Grant-Kels and Dr. Dedee Murrell and Deputy Editor Dr. Neil Sadick, the journal is now well established, indexed in PubMed Central, and continues to receive a stream of high quality submissions from across the world.

We believe that the IJWD is an important vehicle to disseminate critical information regarding women and their families to enhance the field of dermatology, to reach beyond the boundaries that currently constrain us and allow us to innovate, to collaborate, to grow, and to flourish. We hope to capitalize on the mental muscle and creativity of the WDS membership to propel us forward and train the next generation of empowered female and male leaders in our specialty.
