One of the challenges of living with IBD is that many symptoms are invisible to others.

Fatigue, abdominal pain, urgency, and emotional stress can impact daily life even when someone appears “fine” on the outside.

Awareness and understanding can go a long way in supporting those living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. 💙

Holidays can feel different when you’re living with IBD, and that’s okay. 💙

This Easter, taking care of yourself might mean choosing familiar foods, resting when needed, or adjusting your plans.

Your comfort matters, and the day doesn’t have to look perfect to be meaningful.

Wishing everyone a supportive and comfortable holiday. 🐣

A new Crohn’s support group is being created in the Kansas City area! 🌟

After being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2024, Sarah quickly realized the importance of support, yet no local groups were available.

This initiative aims to change that.

The group is designed to be a safe, supportive space for individuals living with Crohn’s Disease & UC to:

❤️ Share experiences

❤️ Offer encouragement and understanding

❤️ Discuss coping strategies, treatments, and daily challenges

❤️ Build meaningful community and connection

Support matters. No one should have to navigate IBD alone.

If you’re interested in joining or want more information, please reach out to Sarah Rupp.

Myth: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is just a stomach problem.

Fact: Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis can affect more than the digestive system.

While IBD causes inflammation in the digestive tract, some people may also experience symptoms affecting joints, skin, eyes, or overall energy levels.

Understanding these broader impacts is an important part of improving care.

Through ongoing efforts, scientists and clinical research sites like BVL aim to better understand IBD and the full range of symptoms patients experience.
