Please welcome our newest team member, Matt Breese. Check out his bio:

"I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for offering space to others where they can be seen, heard and changed. I treat individuals ages 5+, suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar, personality disorders, career burnout, ’church-hurt’, grief and sexual addiction. I am a Certified Clinical Services Provider of ADHD and have over 9,000 hours of direct client care. As someone who has worked in various mental healthcare contexts, I have had the privilege of treating the homeless to the professional athlete and everyone in between.

Having been to awful and (thankfully) great therapists myself, my treatment approach is centered on developing a safe and trusting relationship with you so that I can truly know and help you. I use a combination of evidence-based approaches including CBT, Schema Therapy, IFS, ACT, DBT, Attachment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. These approaches help me find the ‘why’ behind your symptoms and the ‘what’ for feeling and being healthier. I will guide you with compassion, humor and my own personal experience of moving from hopeless to hopeful.

We will work together to discover healthy and unhealthy habits and other factors that are helping and hurting your efforts to be and feel well. I will provide the encouragement and accountability that is needed to not only provide symptom relief, but deep change.

Faith is a major part of my life, but I understand that is not the case for everyone and I do not ‘force’ my faith upon my clients.

I am fortunate to not only have my own story of redemption, but to also be united to someone who is well-versed in healing. I have been married for 15 years to a wonderful woman, who through her love of others and training in oncology, mental health and palliative care, has taught me much about human suffering and hope. Together we have two girls, who are wild, beautiful and spunky!"

Images of our Family Play Therapy room.

Play therapy is a powerful, child-centered approach that helps kids express what they can’t yet put into words. Through play—their natural language—children can work through big feelings, build coping skills, and strengthen confidence in a safe, supportive space. With a trained therapist guiding the process, play becomes more than “just fun”: it’s a meaningful pathway to healing, emotional regulation, and healthier relationships at home and school. 💛🧸✨

Yes we're growing! Say "hello" to our new therapist, Lori! Check out her bio below:

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps individuals experience lasting transformation and healing through a Christ-centered holistic approach. I have 11 years of social work experience in a variety of settings: schools, in-home therapy with children in foster care and case management with individuals with developmental disabilities. Most recently, I provided individual and group therapy to teens, adults and their families. These experiences have helped me to develop my expertise in working with teenagers and their families, providing crisis care and helping individuals with attachment wounds and trauma.

I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I specialize in helping individuals that are experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, rigid thinking, struggling with identity and self esteem, difficulty managing stress in a healthy way and interpersonal conflict. As a therapist, I am passionate about creating a safe space where individuals will feel seen, valued, and heard, which will help to foster processing, healing, and the development of coping mechanisms that will help them live the abundant life God has for them.

At Jars of Clay we value family. Not everyone in our family is pictured here, but these are our people. We love them deeply.

We could tell many stories about the beauty of family while also sharing the mistakes we’ve made in the 28+ years we’ve been on our parenting and marriage journeys. One thing we know is attunement, vulnerability, reliability, safety, and consistency are keys to connection and secure attachment in family and marriage! Learning healthy communication and “I feel” statements is a game changer when in conflict. Healthy boundaries and safe connection exist in unison.

We’re not perfect but we keep trying! Humility goes a long way in life and relational connection. Jesus is the best example of these things and we look to Him and scripture to guide us!

Thank you to our family for showing up for us at our Grand Opening event.
