OT inspiration sometimes comes in unlikely places. Today, while breaking apart a 1000-piece puzzle that I recently completed with my mom, I noted that the feeling of the pieces in my hands was quite unique, and for me, somewhat relaxing even.

A new idea for a sensory bin perhaps? Maybe this would be a good use for any old puzzles you’ve got lying around that either you’ve already completed or that are missing some pieces?

If you look around the house, I bet you can find lots of random items that may make a great sensory bin for your kiddos. Think outside the box. Share some ideas in the comments!

It's National Tooth Fairy Day!!!

Does the tooth fairy visit your house? What traditions does your family have surrounding kids losing teeth?

The tooth fairy comes to our house but I admit, there isn't a lot of hoopla surrounding her visits. I do, however, love hearing how other parents handle these types of things, because these playful traditions are what often make childhood so magical.

Stadiums are adding spaces to help people with autism or ADHD, or anyone seeking to lower anxiety levels and find some calm away from the noise of the game.

Strong vestibular processing helps your kiddos and mine enjoy the rides at the county fair!

We can help our little ones develop these skills with things like ride on toys, playing games that put their bodies in different positions, and exposing them early to swings and other movement activities.
