A single therapeutic approach is quietly challenging decades of failed smoking cessation methods. In one controlled psilocybin assisted quit program researchers reported that 67 percent of participants remained smoke free after 12 months. Even more striking 60 percent were still abstinent 2.5 years later. These outcomes stand far above most conventional ni****ne replacement or pharmaceutical methods.

The treatment combined guided therapy with carefully monitored use of a psychedelic drug compound designed to address addiction at the psychological root rather than through daily chemical substitution. Scientists at Harvard University and other leading research institutions have pointed to these results as evidence that altering deeply ingrained behavioral patterns may require transformative experiences not just willpower.

This research does not suggest shortcuts. It suggests depth. When treatment reaches identity emotion and meaning outcomes may finally change.

Should psychedelic therapy be taken seriously for addiction treatment?

So there's this new study from Oregon where they gave psilocybin mushrooms to eight athletes with traumatic brain injuries - boxers, MMA fighters, surfers, and bobsledders.

These people had been living with concussion symptoms that were absolutely wrecking their lives.

They hooked everyone up to EEG machines and did brain scans before and after guided psilocybin sessions.

The changes were visible on the scans - their frontal lobes literally rebalanced themselves.

That's the part of your brain that handles mood and impulse control.

The results were kind of incredible.

Depression dropped, PTSD symptoms improved, and their brains got noticeably better at focusing and making decisions.

One test showed their "noticing and responding" signals got significantly stronger and their brains were physically working better.

The theory is that psilocybin doesn't just mask symptoms like typical treatments.

It actually helps the brain rewire around damage at both the neurological and metabolic level.

We're talking about cellular repair, not just a temporary mood boost.

It's early days. The study was on just eight people and is not peer-reviewed yet.

But former NHL player Daniel Carcillo, who runs the treatment centre, says these athletes are finally coming back to themselves.

Rick Simpson Oil or RSO was self named by a now famed Canadian medical ma*****na activist known for sharing a simple method for extracting oils from cannabis. He was motivated to share his technique after using cannabis oil to cure his own skin cancer.

Since then, many have used cannabis oil in combination with lifestyle and diet changes to fight Cancer and other serious medical conditions. There's many types of oils on the market now, and Rick Simpson has asked those selling 'RSO' to quit using his name for profits - especially in the industry. Entities who have products labeled that way need to change that up - in 2026 'RSO' would be "Intellectual Property" of Rick, like it has been for 20 years. He has books available and more to help people put their issues into remission. Anyone using his name for sales should be paying a royalty, after all I wouldn't allow anyone to use Researcher OG, they'd end up shut down with a court injunction.

Making your own RSO, having it non commercial, isn't what Good ol Rick was talking about in a recent live video when he made his plea to quit hijacking his name without compensation or any input from him. He stated clearly "The only person who has/had RSO is me" - and that's accurate as he made his own oil.
