3 Weeks Post-Op Reflections ✨
Three weeks since my ACDF surgery and I’ve learned SO much about healing, advocacy, and trusting my body. Here’s what I want to share:
Listen to YOUR body. No one knows it better than you do. If something feels off, speak up.
Be your own advocate. Learn everything you can BEFORE approving any medical care. Ask questions. Do research. When you’re part of the decision-making process, you heal faster because you understand what’s happening to your body.
Movement is medicine. I’ve been gently moving my body post-op. If something hurts, I stop. There’s no award for pushing through pain.
Listen to what your body is telling you.
Your body WANTS to heal. It’s designed to heal. Believe in that power.
Healing isn’t just the recovery after. It’s the ENTIRE journey - from the moment you acknowledge something’s wrong, through diagnosis, treatment decisions, surgery, and beyond. Every step is part of your healing story.
This journey has reminded me why I love what I do as a massage therapist - helping people reconnect with and trust their bodies. Can’t wait to get back to it! 💙
