Today is National Student Nurses Day, and we’d like to show gratitude to Senior Nurse Cadet Lacy Biltoft, a future health professional at University of Nebraska Medical Center (via UN-Kearney):
Lacy is a senior nursing student and Army ROTC Cadet at UNK preparing to commission into the Army National Guard. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing while continuing to gain experience in military medicine.
At UNK, she’s been actively involved in ROTC and nursing school clinicals, where she gained hands-on patient care experience across a variety of healthcare settings. Lacy has also participated in community involvement and service-oriented activities, which further reinforced her desire to pursue a career centered around helping others and improving patient outcomes.
Of HOSA, Lacy says, “Although I did not have the opportunity to participate in HOSA in high school, I have worked alongside peers who were involved and have seen the value it provides in preparing students for healthcare careers. I wish I had access to similar opportunities earlier on and appreciate the impact organizations like HOSA can have in shaping future healthcare professionals.”
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, staying active, spending time outdoors, and being with friends and family.
Lacy plans to continue her career as an Army Nurse, where she hopes to care for Soldiers and their families, all while continuing to grow as both a leader and healthcare professional.
