Congratulations to Sonja Harb, MHT, for receiving the October Tulip Award!

Here is what a couple colleagues had to say about Sonja:
"Sonja is the hardest working tech I know. She cares deeply about her role and maintains safety on the unit. She notices safety issues no one else does and has prevented countless issues. No one really notices everything she does until she is gone, but I do. She has a very stressful position and sometimes serves as a punching bag as the first person answering a phone call or a patient yelling at her, but she knows when to set limits and hold firm. She is a great asset to our unit!"

"Sonja has been a team member on the unit for a long time. As a result, she has so much knowledge about her unit and the patients. In high-stress situations, she is an amazing de-escalator. I have seen her talk to patients and their families with compassion, kindness and a comforting voice. Sonja is often at the front desk taking calls, so she is often the first voice worried family members hear. She is amazing at being there for them and getting them the appropriate person to talk to – simple, but important, and very helpful to the nurse. Please consider strongly giving Sonja this award. Her consistency, compassion, knowledge, and willingness to be helpful to staff and patients alike, is a great asset to the Bryan Community. Thank you!"

Sonja, thank you for the care you provide daily to your patients. You make a difference in the lives of others. We are grateful that you are part of the Bryan Medical Staff.

Congratulations to Patricia Willison, RN, on receiving a DAISY Award.

Here is what a few patients and colleagues had to say about Patricia in her nomination:
"Patricia is a real joy to work with. She is a very organized leader and completes her work in a thorough and timely manner. She is very effective with difficult clientele but establishes good rapport. She is very easy to work with and is always in a good mood. She makes the shift much easier when in charge. She brings a lot of knowledge to Bryan. She follows the Bryan Core Values and is very deserving of the DAISY Award."

"Patricia is just ALWAYS so wonderful. She spreads kindness, joy, and laughter every time I see her. My favorite days in treatment is when she is working. She’s uplifting and always so helpful whether it be for things like meds/med questions or just a caring ear to listen to you vent. She deserves this award and much more!!"

"When I think of Patricia, I think of so many amazing things, because she is all things amazing. One word that comes to mind is welcoming. She displays “one team, one purpose”, not sometimes, but every shift. She is an amazing teacher. She is full of empathy. We take care of vulnerable clients and Patricia “cares like crazy” and has SO MUCH EMPATHY. Thanks so much Patricia for everything you do, for patients and staff alike!"

"This woman gives her all to her patients. She is 100% focused on meeting our emotional, medical, and mental needs. Her enthusiasm for this work is blatantly obvious and there is no doubt about how much she cares for and respects us. She treats me with dignity, which is something I haven’t felt in a long time before coming into treatment. Nurses like her make believing in ourselves again attainable."

Thank you for being helpful and welcoming, Patricia! We are proud of you. The DAISY Award recognizes outstanding nurses at Bryan.

“We are thankful that nurse Adrienne Clark was on duty the day our daughter was admitted. She noticed some complications due to high blood pressure and was concerned for our daughter's unborn baby. She sprung into action and called an emergency C-section delivery. Her experience and actions likely saved the life of our daughter and her baby.” — Randy, Grateful Father

Congratulations to Adrienne, Bryan Medical Center labor and delivery nurse, on this well-deserved recognition!
