Did you know that movement can actually help you with your sore knees?

Exercise is proven to help reduce joint stiffness, build strength around your knees and improve overall mobility. And it does not have to mean high-impact workouts.

Walking, cycling, yoga and even water exercise can all offer benefits.

The fingerprints of Jim and Wade Stange can be found all over Bryan Medical Center. Collectively, the father and son worked on architectural projects at Bryan for over 60 years. Today, Wade volunteers at Bryan as a wayfinder, guiding guests around the hallways that he and his dad helped design.

Not all stress is harmful. In fact, some stress can help you thrive.

When you step just outside your comfort zone, stress can become a positive force. It can motivate you, strengthen your confidence and push you to develop new skills. Over time, that growth can build resilience and a greater sense of well-being.

The key is recognizing when stress is helpful and when it starts to feel overwhelming. Finding balance and making time to recharge can help you stay in a healthier place.

Congratulations to Clinton Rathje, DO for receiving the Care Like Crazy Award!

A colleague shared these kind words about Clinton.
"I was bringing a 5-year-old patient back for surgery and she was apprehensive. All the way from SPR to the OR doors, she sat at the foot of the bed, as if ready to make a break for it. When we stopped outside the OR doors, she began crying and jumped into her mother's arms, refusing to let go. We asked if she wanted to walk to the room or ride in the bed. Both were definite "no's," so I offered to carry her. She agreed, which was great, but I still needed to get her bed out of the hallway and back to the OR. When I went to scan my badge to open the main OR doors and look for a helper, they magically opened and Dr. Rathje appeared with a smile. The SPR nurse and I said, "Dr. Rathje has daughters, can he carry you back?" The patient looked at him for a moment before calmy nodding her head. He introduced himself as he took her into his arms, and she remained calm as could be all the way to our room as I followed with her bed.

While I'm sure I would've found another person to drive the bed while I carried the patient, Dr. Rathje's help was so incredibly appreciated. His calm and caring demeanor was just what we needed to help at that moment, and I wanted to share the story of how he made a difference for everyone involved! He's just the best!"

Clinton, thank you for the care you provide daily to your patients. You make a difference in the lives of others. We are honored that you are part of the Bryan Medical Staff.
