A Tribute to April Sampson
These beautiful flowers (picked from the ASCC landscaping) are more than just a seasonal delight—they’re a reflection of our namesake, April Sampson, whose love for floral design and creativity touched so many lives.

April owned and operated Sampsons, a beloved floral and gift shop in Lincoln for over 25 years. With a keen eye for style and a passion for decorating, she brought joy and beauty to her community. In the early days, Sampsons bloomed in Rathbone Village as a flower shop, and later evolved into a home accessories store at 70th & Pioneers.

Each month, we celebrate the artists whose work brings beauty, comfort, and inspiration to the April Sampson Cancer Center.
For July, we’re highlighting McCook Blue—a vibrant collection on display in the art alcoves near our infusion suite. This thoughtful series from Mike Nesbit adds a sense of calm and connection to the space, offering a welcome pause for patients, visitors and staff.

“In the gentle tones of McCook Blue’s work, may you find peace between treatments—and a reminder of all that holds you steady through the journey,” said artist Mike Nesbit.
