Yesterday, we had one of our favorite monthly events...our New Resident Social!

This afternoon event is where Residents often meet their new neighbors and make new friends. AND...this wonderful gathering always has a special treat...carefully and personally crafted with deliciousness and mischief by Joe, our Salt Creek Senior Living Advisor.

The laughs are joyous and the smiles are sparkly. But the chocolate and blonde brownies this week? Ohmygoodness. BEYOND DELICOUS! Here's some pictures to help convey our enthusiasm and appreciation. We're hoping Joe makes the exact same treat next month! The caramel and chocolate drizzle combinations with the pecans and cashews? It's a treat we will dream about in the coming nights.

There are lots of beautiful touches Salt Creek Residents love about our Community. One thing we hear mentioned often is the opportunities to create "Clubs" that cater to their interests.

As we move past the wonderful holiday entertainment features, it's time to restart some of our Clubs, once again, with new energy!

Today, Art Club attendees updated a display and shared together in a short presentation on "Circles." Circle quotes were discussed and new artwork was created.

Colorful and unique art of all kinds is displayed, updated and enjoyed by our Residents frequently. We thought we might share some of today's visual highlights with you, too!

Thank you to Donna, the Uke-a-Lady, for sharing her amazing gifts with us this morning! Her ukulele music has our toes tapping and our smiles sparkling. It's safe to say, she made the chilly and rainy weather outside somehow feel a lot warmer!

It's a little after 6pm at Salt Creek. The exact time is easy to reference as the New Year also brought us this wonderful new clock in our dining room area, which everyone really loves.

Earlier this afternoon, we enjoyed Social Hour together featuring warm and cold appetizer options. Then, a group enjoyed a round of word games.

Next, everyone chatted with neighbors during a relaxing dinner with fresh, baby's breath flowers in the centerpieces.

Finally as the evening begins, one group starts a group of cards while another group enjoys videos of big band music in the theater. Several other Residents enjoy puzzles in the game room area. It's truly been a lovely Tuesday afternoon at Salt Creek!

Music, food, flowers and fellowship...and a beautiful new clock are helping us enjoy a great start to 2026.

New Year's Eve at Salt Creek absolutely had some "sparkles" throughout the day!

Was there eggnog tasting? Yes! Was there festive treats for an afternoon social hour? Yes! Husker sports watching? Yes!

There were also special toasts to our friends and neighbors to making next year...the very best year yet!

We are wishing everyone the most amazing blessings for 2026!

Some wonderful holiday visitors brought warm Christmas temperatures with them as they visited our Salt Creek Community this weekend.

We really loved meeting "Spicy," who clearly deeply adores his family. Check back in a few days as we are likely to show this same scenic view...perhaps this time with some white snow.

It might be the day after Christmas, but we are still enjoying the joys of the holiday crafts. A few gingerbread artists are still creating masterpieces...and maybe sneaking an occasional piece of candy in the process!

Winner Alert! Lots of people are feeling blessed today.

One lucky person guessed exactly 41 candy canes were in the AseraCare contest jar...and won a blanket! A number of other Residents feel like they were pretty lucky with some card games today, as well.

Several others enjoyed a drink during our "Mocktail Monday" and said this beverage was one of our best ones yet! And last but not least, today's Social Hour treat was a delicious crepe dessert...and someone is pointing to the one they would like a Team Member to serve to them!
