Thank you to Sheri from Sunlight Senior Care for hosting a "Virtual Trail Hike" for Salt Creek Residents this afternoon.

We enjoyed a comfortable exercise adventure to the Smokey Mountains and saw some gorgeous scenery. Of course, all hikers had a delicious trail mix snack as a well-deserved reward!

We're contemplating our next destination. And we'll let you know where we decide to go next time.

Snuggled in various spaces in our Salt Creek Community, there are little libraries with lots of reading choices! Many Residents enjoy making a book or magazine selection...and then choosing a comfortable chair nearby to relax.

A few of our Residents are authors, too. And we always feature their work for neighbors to check out.

This afternoon's Social Hour appetizer at Salt Creek was...six different home-made pizza options to taste! The overall winner of this gourmet tasting was a huge surprise.

The grand champion was the pizza featuring a fabulous combination of fancy cheeses, grilled onions and almonds. The runner up was the tomato, basil and feta cheese option.

Attendees all agreed tasting an assortment of delicious food was a hard job. But, really, someone has to do it. Sigh* We powered through the challenge.

Yesterday's snow couldn't keep our amazing Friday afternoon music away!

Salt Creek would like to thank Gene from Swing Fever for the wonderful and uplifting music show this afternoon!

The snow can be seen in the background, of course. But the spring flowers on our Bistro counter, along with the beautiful music playing, gave everyone who attended a warm feeling!

Salt Creek was honored to host this morning's Alzheimer's Association breakfast!

Attendees from all over Nebraska, including Lincoln and Omaha, connected over a wonderful morning meal...which included some fabulous and warm Breakfast Runzas!

Information was shared, hugs were had, and we think everyone had a great start to a chilly Thursday as a result.

Thank you to everyone who attended and also to those who helped make the event a success.

We are so grateful to the Alzheimer's Association for all the great work they do!

We enjoyed honoring President's Day with a special display and also some historical trivia. Again today, our Community enjoyed some patriotic music together during our Community Sing-a-Long, too.

But Salt Creek also had a fun photo board on Monday we used to help generate joy on Presidents Day, offering it to those interested in taking a fun picture. And, of course, we had several who jumped in and got a snapshot taken.

What we did not expect, however, was how much our patriotic pup visitors during our therapy dog visit that day would ALSO truly enjoy being included in "patriotic people" fun!

Please check out the pictures and see why we simply could resist sharing these photographs with you. It's almost like all the dogs watched the people poses and wanted in on the action!

Last night, the Valentine Season delights continued at Salt Creek!

During an evening art show, Residents deeply enjoyed a showcase of seasonal balloons, giant cards, cuddly toy bears and hand-crafted cards from local pre-school children!

Grandchildren visiting could also make a special Valentine card with family and enjoy reading a Valentine book together.
