Keeping up with my lifting routine this week and moving on to upper body today with only 4 moves but lots of progressions and tempo work. I can't believe all the weights I used for this. Everything from 3s to 25s 😯. Pretty sure I won't be wanting to wash my hair tomorrow.

Happy freaking first Monday of the year! Back to routine today in all the ways from hitting the gym for some lifting, back to school routine with the kiddo, and back to work for me and the hubby. Vacation life is over 😆. But it's ok. Routine is grounding and helps keep life moving in a functional direction towards living each day with intention and success. You got this Monday 👊🏼

3 outdoor walks yesterday for day 3 ✔️. It was so nice to see the bright sun and full moon while getting out and exploring different areas of the city. Weeks like this makes me think i could definitely enjoy retirement 😁. The freedom to just get out and explore whenever wherever. Alas, tomorrow, back to the real world.

We've been slowly chipping away at the Indian Creek Trail in the Overland Park area and today we hit another section for our day 2 of Launch Your Toughness challenge. It was much cooler than yesterday and no sun 🙁, but maybe that's what motivated us to move faster and even run the last mile or so to get back in the warmth.

Happy New Year's Eve Day 😆. Getting in my workout before heading off to the big city to celebrate the end of another year of striving to be the best version of me I can.
Not gonna lie, I'm not where I had hoped to be physically, but I'm doing a whole lot better physiologically than I was last year thanks to hormone therapy. No more brain fog, achy body, low enthusiasm, and most of all I'm back to bouncing out of bed excited to work out pretty much every day! My morning routine brings me so much joy and peace, filling my cup each day. Without that, I was struggling and incomplete. So I am very glad to be back on track and looking forward to what next year has in store. Cheers to 2026 🎉

Well I did not expect snow when I opted for a scenic ride through Death Valley today. But what a great ride and the sun was shining brightly making for a great start to the morning. And since the scenic rides are short and easy, I decided to tack one of the new 10 minute challenges recently uploaded to my library. The HIIT workout was just what I needed for that final burn 🔥

Welcome to my reality!

Hi, I am April. The owner of T~n~T Dynamite Fitness. My daughter actually came up with the name for her imaginary restaurant she was dreaming up one day and said I could have a gym attached. She’s so sweet and kind. But really the name T~n~T comes from my kids’ names; Teyla and Trek. Together they really are dynamite (insert happy, scared, and mad emojis here).

I have been into health and fitness from every angle ever since my daughter turned 2 and I realized I wasn’t going to lose the baby weight by just dreaming about it. I had to take action or she would be headed down the same road as me. It started with learning about nutrition for me. I knew nothing about portion control or healthy food swaps. Then came exercise. I grew up all over the world in places you could be active outdoors. My true passion is hiking! I could hike and hike and hike some more......if I still lived in the mountains. But that changed when I moved to the flat midwest for college. When I came to the plains of eastern Nebraska for college I was so out of my element, I didn’t know what to do or where to go to be active outdoors. so, I got fat. It didn’t help I met the love of my life a couple years later and so life happened.

Together my husband and I learned to eat so much better. He taught me some things about running and cycling and things started to click. I felt better, I looked better, and over time I have learned so much more about health from the inside out. The big key to keep in mind though; be ready for constant change. Don’t let yourself get bored or complacent. Keep striving for whatever makes you feel good and happy. Don’t give up, no matter what!

So welcome to my page. I am here to support, encourage, and teach you about health and what it feels like (not always what it looks like). Because we all have things to live for!
