As of June 1, 2025, Dr. April Brinkhoff has stepped down as President of the OneHealth Nebraska ACO Board of Directors.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. April Brinkhoff, who has served on the OneHealth Nebraska Board of Directors since 2017 and has led as Board President since August 2023.

"It has been a privilege to serve as President of this board and to work alongside all of you to maintain our goal of being independent healthcare providers." Dr. Brinkhoff shared, "I am proud of what we have accomplished and the positive impact we have had on healthcare in Lincoln."

Thank you, Dr. Brinkhoff, for your leadership, support, and the time and energy you have given to help get the ACO to where it is today!

This morning Dr. Brinkhoff accepted the Degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice at the national conference in Phoenix. She has been recognized as a distinguished member of the Academy and a champion of Family Medicine through her dedication to life long learning, practice quality and improvement, volunteer teaching and service to the specialty. Congratulations Dr. Brinkhoff!

Tyson Carlson, MD, is ready to assume his new role as a Family Medicine doctor at Fallbrook Family Health Center in Lincoln. One of the things he appreciates from his residency is the guidance provided by faculty and volunteer faculty which has allowed him the appropriate level of autonomy to grow and gain confidence as a physician.

Dr. Carlson says he will miss the daily interactions with co-residents and other colleagues. His advice to new residents: take initiative and be assertive with your learning while in residency; the days may seem long at times but the three years goes by fast. He is looking forward to having more control over how the daily operation of his practice and continuing to develop long-standing relationships with his patients and making an overall positive impact on their health.
