What is the Mr. & Miss Extraordinary pageant? The Mr & Miss Extraordinary Pageant is a program that gives 14-25 year olds with disabilities the opportunity to build self-confidence in a supportive environment. Who can participate in the Mr & Miss Extraordinary Pageant? Any female or male of high school age or that is currently enrolled in a adult working program. Additionally, the individual must meet the definition of disabled under government laws and acts defining a disability. What are the areas of participation? There are four required areas of participation:
Community Service - 5 can goods to be donated to Placer Food Bank
Fun Fashion - Favorite school outfit, sports uniform, cocktail dress, etc. Evening Wear/ Sunday Best-
Males: slacks, collared shirt and tie/bowtie
Females: Short or long prom dress
On Stage Question - Each constants question will be based off their bio and prior to the pageant the individual's parent/guardian will be informed of the question so they may practice it with their child. (Example: Where is your favorite place to eat out?)
What time will the pageant start? The show will begin at 2pm tentatively. However, contestants will be asked to arrive at noon in order to settle in and practice. What is the cost to enter the Mr. & Miss Extraordinary pageant? There is no entry fee for the participants, however, we will be asking each contestant to bring 5 non-perishable items that will donated at the end of the pageant. The show will be a ticketed event for everyone who will be coming in to watch the pageant. This money will funnel back into the program to provide future scholarship and support the continuation of this event.
