🍁Visited Grandma Dot, where she lives in INDEPENDENT LIVING at a retirement home in Arden - she still cooks, cleans, shops, etc!
🍁 Relaxed at our gorgeous Airbnb cabin in Canton

🍁 Enjoyed delicious local pulled pork over collards and grits with some beers in Waynesville

First day of 2nd grade AND it's Siena's 7th birthday!
Bianca is "graduating" from the daycare where she's been from about 6 months of age 😭😭 She starts nursery at Siena's school next week!

I was so honored to be present to witness the strength and courage of my sister as she brought her baby boy earthside! In a 30+ hour induction she danced, rocked, and breathed her baby boy down. Despite working incredibly hard to get fully to 10cm dilation and 100% effaced, baby was presenting in a difficult position to pass through the pelvis. He decided that it was time to meet his mama in a belly birth! Born Sunday August 4 at 4:34am, and coming in at 8lb and 21.5", meet Sonny Joseph Parisi!

This sweet girl is celebrating her 1st trip around the ☀️ today!!
Bianca came racing into the world 1 year ago today. She started out as a chill baby, but her feisty personality has really started to shine over the past few months! Bianca is independent and fearless, so she naturally loves to explore, climb, and move. She loves playing with her big sister, and Siena makes her laugh. We love watching you learn and grow ❤️!

Bianca is 11 months old!!!
❤️ She is on the move as you can tell from these photos, and she loves climbing, trying to walk, and exploring!
💖 She loves food, stuffed animals, books, and dancing
💗 She does not like breastfeeding anymore (she went on a sudden nursing strike a month ago, and I'm thinking she's ready to wean altogether 😭😭). Exclusive pumping sucks!!
❤️ She hates diaper and clothing changes, and having to wait for her food
💖 Tooth #7 is coming in!!
😭

How are you 9 months already!?? Bianca is already in her sister's 18 month clothing!!

These were the best I could get...every other photo was blurry because she won't stop moving!!

Bianca's baptism and Siena's 4th birthday bash

Siena's 1st day of preschool !!
Bianca and I look like we only slept 3 hours because in a 2 week period this poor girl started daycare, started solid foods, got 2 teeth, went through a growth spurt and a developmental leap (she learned to sit up, crawl, and pull to stand all within the 2 weeks!!)!!

Seriously how is this girl 4 months!??
Measuring over 80th percentile for both weight and length (16 lb 5oz and 25.25 inches), she definitely takes after her daddy!
Only a few more days home with baby girl until I return to work 😭

I have always been one to challenge the status quo. As a youth I was constantly questioning, seeking knowledge, and as my teachers put it, "thinking outside the box." Now, whether it's regarding food, health, birth, or parenting, I continue to challenge cultural norms, choosing instead to trust my own instincts (and in many cases the wisdom drawn from hundreds to thousands of years of observations about the human body).
Roots
In my wellness practice, I embrace all of the many definitions of the word "root." In my family, the tree has always served as a special symbol. The way in which tree roots intertwine is a metaphor for the connections that we share physically (through DNA), emotionally, and spiritually as a family. As a wellness practitioner, it is also my objective to get to the root cause of an imbalance. In many instances, this involves "going back to our roots" and following healing protocols that have been passed down through generations. And let's not forget that some of the most delicious and nourishing foods are roots - sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots, beets., etc!
Wellness
My approach to wellness is simple and holistic. I incorporate my knowledge of nutrition, yoga, lactation, and natural childbirth to offer a whole body program that allows you to find your true self and feel your best.
