Today I woke so stressed. My head hurt. Jaw tight. Shoulders screaming. Why, you ask? I had a dream I was trying to teach yoga to about 100 kids in a gym class and the gym teachers did not know I was coming. They were not super thrilled and that was upsetting.
Complete chaos. I tried, I really did. I felt hot and bothered.

Finally I woke up and brought that stress into my day. From just a dream!!!

Friends- this happens a lot for all of us. Even if we do not remember our dreams, our body reacts. Ever wake up just....wiped?

This is why is it good to have time to meditate, gently going within to let your body really be at rest. Like...really really rest.

Join me soon for a chill Yin class or singing bowls for complete R and R. I may be adding a pop up meditation class ONLINE if I see some interest. Just let me know.

Your breath tells your story.

The way you breathe isn’t random—it reflects your nervous system in real time. When you’re stressed, your breath often becomes shallow, fast, and high in the chest. When you feel safe and regulated, your breath tends to slow down, deepen, and move more into the belly and ribs.

From a science perspective, breath is directly linked to the autonomic nervous system. Slow, intentional breathing helps activate the parasympathetic “rest and digest” response, lowering heart rate, reducing stress hormones, and signaling to your brain and body that you are safe. This is why something as simple as changing your breath can shift how you feel almost immediately.

But many of us don’t realize how we’re breathing until someone guides us.

In a class setting, you’re not just “taking deep breaths”—you’re learning awareness. You begin to notice patterns, build new pathways, and practice regulating your breath in a supportive environment. Over time, this can help:
• Increase emotional regulation
• Reduce anxiety and stress
• Improve focus and presence
• Support the body’s natural healing response

Breath is both a mirror and a tool. It reflects what’s happening inside you—and it can also gently guide you back to balance.

Your breath tells your story… and with practice, you can begin to rewrite it.

Did you know that you can rewire your brain simply by practicing some gratitude? True story.

I'll go first-
Today I am grateful for beautiful sunsets, amazing weather, a body that can move more, Marco polo friends, positive changes in those who have been struggling,my silly puppy, a husband who works hard for his family,and working appliances.

Could I focus on the 9 million tech issues, frustrations, mean people, etc. that were thrown at me today? Sure. And its okay to vent!

But, coming back to a grateful heart always helps.
